Fresh Strawberry Cake

Homemade strawberry cake topped with light and fluffy whipped cream strawberry frosting. A delicious 3-layer cake that tastes just a strawberry shortcake!

Ingredients: for a 20 × 20 square mold

  1. 100 g butter
  2. 100 g sugar
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 100g of flour
  5. 50 g almond powder (replace with 50 g flour if you don't have any)
  6. 1 sachet of vanilla sugar (or lemon zest)
  7. 1 sachet of baking powder
  8. 1 good pinch of salt
  9. A punnet of strawberries


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over very low heat. Reserve.
  3. Beat the eggs with the sugar and the vanilla sugar then add the melted butter, mix well then the flour, the almond powder, the pinch of salt and the yeast. If the dough is a bit thick, add two tablespoons of plain yogurt or milk. Mix well.
  4. Pour the dough into the square silicone mold or lined with parchment paper.
  5. Wash the strawberries, cut them in half and place them on the dough.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes depending on your oven.
  7. Once cool, sprinkle with icing sugar.
  8. To taste warm or downright cold with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream is a pure delight!
